This document outlines the expectations, responsibilities, and key operational directives for the RAP Processing Operator at Black Rock.

The RAP Processing Operator’s primary function is to safely, efficiently, and competently operate equipment used in the processing of Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP) at the Hot Plant. This includes operating a front-end loader, excavator, asphalt impactor, and prosizer to process material for production.

This role requires safety-minded individuals who are mechanically inclined and committed to maintaining efficient operations while producing high-quality processed RAP material. The operator contributes directly to Hot Plant production by ensuring RAP is processed, stockpiled, and supplied in a consistent and efficient manner.

Black Rock will provide training on the asphalt impactor and prosizer for qualified candidates.

• Operate front-end loaders and excavators to feed RAP material into processing equipment and manage stockpiles.
• Operate and monitor the asphalt impactor and prosizer used in RAP processing.
• Maintain consistent material flow to ensure efficient plant production.
• Manage RAP stockpiles to maintain accessibility, quality, and organization of material.
• Load processed RAP material as needed to support plant production.

• Complete daily visual inspections of all assigned equipment and document findings.
• Perform routine daily maintenance, including lubrication, fueling, cleaning, and basic repairs.
• Identify and communicate equipment issues to supervisors or maintenance personnel promptly.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and ensure safe operation at all times.

• Support Hot Plant production by ensuring processed RAP is available and ready for use.
• Monitor processing operations to maintain consistent material sizing and quality.
• Work with the plant team to maintain efficient workflow and minimize downtime.
• Assist with plant and yard organization to ensure safe and efficient material handling.

• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to tolerate loud noise, vibration, and dusty environments common in material processing.
• Maintain awareness of surroundings while operating heavy equipment in active production environments.

• Utilize and follow all PPE protocols required at the Hot Plant.
• Promote a strong safety culture by participating in safety meetings and completing training.
• Follow strict compliance with OSHA, MSHA, and environmental regulations.
• Follow all risk management and emergency response protocols.
• Report all near misses, hazards, and safety incidents immediately.

• Experience operating front-end loaders and excavators preferred.
• Mechanically inclined with the ability to identify equipment issues and perform basic repairs.
• Ability to learn and operate asphalt impactor and prosizer equipment (training provided).
• Strong attention to safety and operational efficiency.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Dependable with a strong work ethic.
