Flexographic Printing Press Operator

Responsibilities

• Must oversee press assistant and direct in completing responsibilities and training
• Set up and run various types of print jobs
• Trouble shoots print problems
• Adjust press to maximize run speed
• Produce quality print
• Follow directions written and verbal
• Load and Unload print sleeves from press and storage racks
• Load and Unload rolls of material from press
• Check Ink viscosity every 10-15 minutes
• Tone inks to required PMS number as needed
• Clean print stations and ink pumps
• Perform preventive maintenance as scheduled
• Complete production paperwork
• Perform quality checks on printed rolls and save retains
• Responsible for the condition of press and work area
• Maintain housekeeping standards
• Work safely at all times

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 5 years previous experience in the operation of wide web flexographic printing presses (8 colors with 52" web including automatic washing system)
• Working knowledge of solvent based ink system and ability to formulate and match colors
• Must have worked extensively with polyethylene film

• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
• Be dependable
• Have the ability to understand and carry out instructions
• Good mechanical aptitude
• Must be able read and write English
• Use measuring devices and have basic math skills
• Experience in using material handling equipment
• Ability to keep work area clean and neat
• Willing to work overtime including weekends
• Be a TEAM PLAYER
