Job Description
Summary:
The primary responsibility of the Production Engineering Technician is to ensure all Production Work Orders are released, assembled to the standards outlined in the QMS, and closed with all operations and data collections completed. Additionally, this position assists the Production Engineers in ensuring compliance to End Item Data Packages and assists Program Management in completing and shipping the product and data packages.
Responsibilities
- Release and close production work orders in Factory Logix, ensuring they are compliant with the quality management system.
- Manage completing the items in the end item data package, ensuring all are released and completed.
- Create Certificate of Conformance, Shipping Requests, and other related documentation.
- Work with other Production Technicians and Engineering to correct and improve documents related to the assembly process.
- Work with manufacturing engineers to improve assembly efficiency, product quality, reduce manufacturing costs, and validate released assembly/fabrication documentation.
- Ensure that work order protocols are followed and that work order paperwork is completed as the work is performed.
- Conduct in-process quality checks to ensure that items built meet high quality standards.
- Follow established procedures on routine work and may require instruction on new assignments.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment in electronics or electro‑mechanical assembly and test, or equivalent education, training, and experience.
- Experience with hand tools including crimpers, drills, taps, torque wrenches, power tools, and air tools.
- Ability to solder as part of assembly function and duties.
- Good manual dexterity and basic computer operation skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills to communicate effectively with employees.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving skills and attention to detail with ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
- Vocational training in Electronics or Solder Certification.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
- Familiarity with Safety and ESD practices.
- Work with engineering on new product development efforts where documentation and assembly instructions are not yet finalized.
- Applies acquired job skills and company policies to complete tasks under minimal supervision.

- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
- Frequent use of hand tools with light force.
- Regularly sit for long periods and occasionally stand for short periods.
- Frequently lift and/or carry objects of small size (2–5 lbs).
- Use hand/finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls frequently.
- Occasional walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, speaking, or hearing.
- Require specific vision abilities: close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
$18,000 – $25,000.
