This position reports to:
Production Manager
In this role, you will be one of our front-line leaders on the plant floor during overnight hours, ensuring that production targets are met safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You will manage a team of 20-30 production operators, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
The work model for this role is Onsite.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, coach, and mentor a team of production operators during the 11:15 PM - 7:45 AM shift and manage critical shift handovers with 2nd and 1st shifts.
- Meet or exceed Daily Production Targets (KPIs) including OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), scrap reduction, and labor efficiency.
- Enforce all safety protocols and PPE requirements, conduct safety walks and lead accident investigations/near-miss reporting for your shift.
- Ensure all products meet strict quality specifications and partner with the Quality Department to troubleshoot non-conformances and implement corrective actions.
- Work with Human Resources to address employee relations, including performance reviews, coaching, documentation, and conflict resolution.
- Assist operators with basic equipment troubleshooting and coordinate with maintenance/technicians for more complex repairs.
- High School diploma/GED and 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment including 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Proven ability to lead diverse teams and manage high-pressure situations.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to stand/walk for 8-10 hours per day and lift up to 45 pounds as needed.
- Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
