The Engineering Manager is a hands‑on leadership role responsible for supporting manufacturing operations, improving process efficiency, and enabling new product introduction. This leader sets direction for a team of manufacturing and design engineers while actively contributing to technical work to expand team capacity and drive execution.
Reporting to the Site Leader, this role blends people leadership, continuous improvement, and direct engineering involvement. The ideal candidate brings a strong problem‑solving mindset, thrives in a fast‑paced production environment, and collaborates effectively across functions to enhance productivity, quality, and throughput.
Key Responsibilities Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement- Lead and drive continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing processes
- Respond to production issues and non‑conformities, ensuring timely escalation and resolution
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective actions
- Partner cross‑functionally to improve productivity, quality, and process reliability
- Support and coordinate new product introduction (NPI), aligning engineering and production teams
- Translate customer specifications into clear manufacturing procedures and workflows
- Develop and improve processes, testing capabilities, and overall workflow efficiency
- Create or recommend tooling, fixtures, and jigs to support manufacturing needs
- Establish and manage project timelines, priorities, and engineering deliverables
- Develop metrics to track process capability and continuous improvement progress
- Ensure proper documentation of processes, procedures, and engineering changes
- Communicate changes clearly across all levels of the organization
- Represent engineering in customer discussions, including issue resolution and new opportunities
- Collaborate with internal teams to align production, quality, and customer expectations
- Lead, coach, and support a team of manufacturing and design engineers
- Promote a hands‑on, problem‑solving culture rooted in accountability and learning
- Train teams in lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices
- Foster safe working practices and ensure compliance with all safety regulations
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 8+ years of manufacturing or process engineering experience
- 3+ years of engineering leadership or supervisory experience
- Experience with statistical process control (SPC) or similar methodologies
- Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and data‑driven decision‑making skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including blueprints
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality systems, and process optimization
- Experience with testing equipment, data analysis, and process software tools
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort working in hands‑on environments, including with chemicals
- Strong documentation, organization, and project management capabilities
- Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent continuous improvement training
- Experience improving workflows, process capability, and manufacturing efficiency
- Must meet U.S. Person requirements due to export control regulations (ITAR/EAR), as applicable
