Waste Connections is seeking an Operations Supervisor for our BARCO Albuquerque Materials Recovery Facility. This role is suited for a hands-on leader ready to advance their career while supporting daily operations. Position Overview
The Operations Supervisor provides on-site leadership at a high-volume Materials Recovery Facility. Responsibilities include maintaining safe, efficient, and reliable production by overseeing personnel, equipment, and material flow.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise hourly employees across assigned shifts
- Monitor equipment performance, material flow, and production quality
- Enforce safety standards and respond to incidents
- Manage staffing levels, break schedules, and rotation plans
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and minimize downtime
- Communicate shift performance and key issues to management
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 2+ years of experience in operations, manufacturing, recycling, or similar fields
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience
- Strong safety awareness and decision-making ability
- Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment
- Preferred: MRF or recycling facility experience; bilingual English/Spanish
- Preferred: 2+ years operating light to heavy equipment
