Operations Supervisor – Material Recovery Facility (MRF)

Waste Connections is seeking an Operations Supervisor for our BARCO Albuquerque Materials Recovery Facility. This role is suited for a hands‑on leader ready to advance their career while supporting daily operations. The Operations Supervisor provides on‑site leadership at a high‑volume Materials Recovery Facility. Responsibilities include maintaining safe, efficient, and reliable production by overseeing personnel, equipment, and material flow.

• Supervise hourly employees across assigned shifts
• Monitor equipment performance, material flow, and production quality
• Enforce safety standards and respond to incidents
• Manage staffing levels, break schedules, and rotation plans
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and minimize downtime
• Communicate shift performance and key issues to management

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• 2+ years of experience in operations, manufacturing, recycling, or similar fields
• Previous supervisory or leadership experience
• Strong safety awareness and decision‑making ability
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced industrial environment
• Preferred: MRF or recycling facility experience; bilingual English/Spanish
• Preferred: 2+ years operating light to heavy equipment

This position is essential to maintaining safe, reliable, and efficient operations at New Mexico’s largest MRF. The Supervisor directly supports production and helps strengthen a collaborative team environment.
