Job SummaryKairos Power is seeking a highly motivated fabricator with expertise in the fabrication of piping systems. In this role you will contribute to the successful completion of piping systems for the various systems of our reactors. This role requires in‑position and out‑of‑position welding. You will be responsible for meeting timelines and improving the pipe welding capabilities, including manual TIG welding and orbital welding.
The candidate must have knowledge of infrastructure, setup, operation, and maintenance requirements for advanced shop equipment, modern fabrication techniques, and a proven record of successful cross‑functional collaboration. Candidate ideally takes pride in craftsmanship, organization, and attention to detail. We offer a fast‑moving and exciting environment.
- Fabricate and assemble piping systems to meet engineering and print specifications.
- Perform high‑quality TIG and orbital welding on a variety of materials and pipe schedules.
- Interpret and work from isometric drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Provide fast turn‑around prototypes for engineering development and testing.
- Collaborate closely with Engineering teams to problem‑solve fabrication issues and execute work requests.
- Propose optimal/innovative fabrication techniques for given jobs.
- Participate as a team member on large‑scale fabrication projects, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.
- Conduct training occasionally on machine capability and best practices to enhance fabrication of piping systems.
- Maintain current welding certifications and documentation in accordance with company and ASME standards.
- Ensure all work complies with applicable safety standards, procedures, and codes.
- Maintain equipment, tools, and the fabrication workspace in safe and reliable condition.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED and 3+ years related experience and/or training.
- 1–3 years working in a fabrication/welding shop desired.
- GTAW experience involving a variety of materials including tubing to schedule 160 pipe.
- Ability to pass 6G super‑coupon weld certification.
- Experience with manual tools required.
- Experience with manual machining (Lathe and Mill) desired.
- Experience with 3D CAD software desired.
- Experience working with stainless material and vessel fabrication desired.
- Knowledge of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.
- Ability to read and understand isometric drawings for piping.
- Ability to work with a highly collaborative team.
- Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently.
