Machinist – Custom Fabrication
- Albuquerque, NM
- $25 – $35 per hour (depending on experience)
- Full-Time | Monday – Friday | 7:15 AM – 3:45 PM
We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join a custom fabrication environment where no two days are the same. This role requires hands‑on experience with precision machining, CNC programming, and tooling repair while holding tight tolerances. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, self‑motivated, and takes pride in high‑quality workmanship.
Responsibilities- Analyze engineering drawings and specifications
- Set up and operate machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, drill presses, and saws
- Program and operate HAAS CNC lathes and mills
- Fabricate and machine tooling from blueprints
- Repair molds and tooling while maintaining tight tolerances (± .001”)
- Heat treat steel using shop furnace; machine hardened steel
- Inspect, clean, and troubleshoot tooling for defects
- Verify dimensions and alignments using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, dial indicators, gauge blocks, etc.)
- Repair and maintain fixtures as needed
- Perform quality checks and respond to production needs in a timely manner
- Follow all safety guidelines and company policies
- Take ownership of product quality and accuracy

Qualifications- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum 5 years of machinist experience in a similar environment
- Experience operating manual and CNC equipment
- Proficient in CNC programming (lathe and mill)
- Strong understanding of machining processes and production equipment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
- Injection molding experience preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude (electrical knowledge a plus)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving skills
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
