Production Worker Job Description
The Production Worker supports continuous manufacturing operations by stacking materials onto conveyors, monitoring product flow through machinery, and maintaining a clean and safe production floor. This role involves repetitive tasks, frequent lifting with team assistance, and quick mental math to support efficient production. It offers the opportunity to observe experienced machine operators, cross-train on equipment, and grow into higher-level operator roles within a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities- Stack materials of varying sizes onto conveyors repeatedly while following all safety procedures and using team lifting when needed.
- Monitor product as it moves through the machine to ensure it is processed correctly and without interruption.
- Assist with general upkeep and cleanliness of the production floor to maintain a safe and organized work area.
- Perform repetitive production and general labor tasks with consistency and attention to detail.
- Work closely with other team members to support smooth production flow and meet operational goals.
- Observe machine operators to learn equipment operation and production processes.
- Participate in cross-training opportunities to develop skills that can lead to promotion into higher-level operator positions.
- Remain on your feet and active throughout long shifts, typically 8–12 hours.
- Apply basic math skills quickly during production activities as needed.
- Follow all safety guidelines and contribute to a safety-focused, team-oriented environment.
This position is based in a large manufacturing facility that is not temperature regulated, so conditions may vary with the seasons. The environment is highly team-oriented and safety focused, with an emphasis on cooperation and mutual support among production staff. Shifts are 12 hours in length, and the schedule requires flexibility to work both days and nights: training is conducted on day shift for approximately one month, followed by a rotating pattern where you work four days on and four days off on day shift, then four days on and four days off on night shift, typically alternating in 16‑day blocks.
You will spend most of your time on your feet performing production and general labor tasks in an active, industrial setting.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of ALBUQUERQUE, NM.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
