Description
Ground Force/Mega of Albuquerque has an amazing opportunity for a skilled fabricator/welder that desires to show their craft in challenging and interesting heavy fabrication metal work. Starting Wage $23-$28/hour depending on experience.
This isn't straight line welding for those just getting started; our world class tanks require skilled welders with the ability to weld-wire feed in multiple positions. In and out of tanks and on-top of them too, the candidates that succeed for us show the ability to flexibly and reliably perform craftsman welds in confined spaces and in quality ways. There is room to grow, or room for those that like the hands-on part of the craft.

- Ability to weld-wire feed in multiple positions
- Ability to use a handheld plasma cutter, handheld grinder, and manual flame cutting torch
- Fit up and assemble products
- Ability to utilize bridge cranes to position parts and assemblies during production
- Exchange empty cylinders of oxygen, shielding gas, and fuel gas for full cylinders using a hand truck/dolly
- Utilize the following welding processes, Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW)/Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW)
- Ability to flexibly, and reliably, perform craftsman welds in confined spaces
- Assist other production employees as deemed necessary by management
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Must be able to perform work to required tolerances
- Must have the skill required to pass a welding test
- Capable of standing, bending, and climbing for long periods of time
- Capable of lifting up to forty pounds and pushing/pulling/drag suction hose on to tanks that weigh anywhere from ten to one hundred pounds
- Capable of working in various weather conditions
- Capable of working around high noise levels
