Position: Shift Group Leader/Operations Manager (Night Shift)

Shift 4 Shift Group Leader (SGL)/Manufacturing Operations Manager (OM)

This role requires full-time onsite presence when managing employees whose responsibilities necessitate onsite work. We are seeking a Shift 4 Shift Group Leader (SGL)/Manufacturing Operations Manager (OM) to join the Wafer Packaging Manufacturing (WPM) New Mexico Die Sort (NM DS) team to be a key manufacturing leader managing Compressed Work Week (CWW) Technicians on Shift 4. As a Manufacturing Operations Manager/Shift GL, you will play a critical role in ensuring Intel's manufacturing facilities operate efficiently and effectively to deliver high-quality products.

Leading a team of skilled technicians, you will oversee operations, equipment maintenance, and repair activities to drive safety, quality, and productivity. You will take ownership of key challenges, resolve operational issues, and collaborate across groups to streamline processes, improve performance, and support Intel's mission of advancing technology. This role offers an exciting opportunity to directly contribute to Intel's Foundry and Advanced Packaging success while fostering innovation and continuous improvement in manufacturing operations.

This position is for a CWW schedule on Shift 4. The schedule will consist of three 12.5-hour shifts in a row plus a fourth shift every other week, with some additional periodic flexibility required for off-shift coverage or meetings. The standard days/hours for this specific role are 7:00 PM-7:30 AM Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, and every other Saturday.

Responsibilities for this role will include but are not limited to:

  • Managing and leading a team of technicians overseeing operations, equipment maintenance, and repair in New Mexico Die Sort as part of the NM Advanced Packaging manufacturing line
  • Owning safety, quality, scheduling, and conflict resolution amongst staff and other stakeholders and assisting in resolving operational, safety, and security issues in the factory
  • Managing and coaching the technician teams to meet all safety, quality, output, cost, productivity, and people performance requirements
  • Developing, aligning, and implementing resource plans for corrective and preventative maintenance activities to maximize equipment availability and stability, and to support equipment install/qualification or demo during factory ramp or configuration changeover periods
  • Assuming direct ownership and acting as the first responder of all on-shift issues within assigned area
  • Managing shift schedules including workstation assignments/rotations, training schedules, employee scheduled time off, employee breaks, coverage for absent employees, and overtime assignments
  • Enabling team to execute through clear goal setting, facilitating work, maintaining accountability, applying differentiated performance management, and taking accountability for team results
  • Promoting positive working relations between peer group leaders, managers, engineers, and technicians across shifts and work areas
  • Driving team results by inspiring people, role modeling Intel values, developing the capabilities of others, and ensuring a productive work environment
  • Championing Intel's values, safety standards, and operational policies while fostering a high-performing, inclusive team culture

Operations/tactical responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing tactical and equipment maintenance plans to meet factory output objectives while optimizing safety, quality, and cost performance, ensuring adherence to Copy Exactly and spec procedures
  • Facilitating daily workflow and streamlining factory processes by coordinating across upstream and downstream operations in the Advanced Packaging manufacturing line
  • Being an expert on tactical and operational aspects of your aligned area. Problem-solving to enable solutions for overcoming tactical issues impacting ramp plans and output
  • Understanding scheduled and unscheduled equipment maintenance, repair, recovery, troubleshooting, tool quality, and run rate
  • Maintaining a strong, visible presence on the manufacturing floor to monitor operations, facilitate effective execution, and establish consistent standards across all shifts
  • Partnering with the Engineering and Production teams to run the factory, resolve equipment issues, and optimize performance to solve problems impacting factory operations and health, and to ensure availability, utilization, and output commitment goals are met
  • Leading improvement activities focused on factory efficiencies as related to manufacturing tasks
  • Leading technical problem-solving teams as needed

Training/Development responsibilities:

  • Developing skills and expertise of your team, enabling long term growth and development
  • Establishing, documenting, evaluating, and executing training plans to develop technician skills aligned with operational requirements, collaborating with the engineering teams as needed
  • Monitoring and managing training performance against schedule to ensure shift team has skills needed to sustain production
