Job Location: 4600 Paseo Del Norte NE, Albuquerque, NM 87113
Work Schedule: Avg. 10 -12 hours shift; 5 days;
Monday
- Friday;
Shift starts at 6 am
Overtime is required.
Compensation: $21.83/ hour
Full or Part Time: Full-time only
American Gypsum Company LLC has been manufacturing, selling, and distributing gypsum wallboard products for over half a century, servicing the drywall industry with quality products that are sold throughout the United States.
JOB SUMMARY:
American Gypsum in Bernalillo, NM is looking to hire a Truck Loader. Truck Loaders are responsible for loading the proper product and piece count on the trucks and railcar in a safe manner. Safety and quality should always be part of the daily operation, to provide a safe workplace and to load the highest quality product possible.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Education requirement:
High School Diploma or GED - Must be able to lift/ move up to 25 lbs. frequently, up to 51 lbs. occasionally, and 51+lbs rarely.
- Must be able to work at elevated heights while working on top of a railcar.
- Must be able to perform basic math and read/ apply metrics.
- Forklift experience is preferred.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
SAFETY:
- This operations position is a safety-sensitive position due to routine close proximity to moving and automatic equipment as well as mobile equipment.
- Operate in a safe manner, following all plant and departmental safety rules and procedures.
- Know fall protection requirements.
- Know requirements for safe operation of lift-trucks.
- Know the Warehouse Safety Program.
- Maintain housekeeping in the Rail area.
- Pickup slueters from the floor.
- Clean up fluid leaks with absorbent material.
- Other assignments as directed by supervision.
- Be familiar with the MSDS for propane.
- Know the location of storm shelters and exits.
- Know lockout tagout on the Auto Wraptor.
QUALITY:
- Adhere to all quality-related procedures.
- Place culled board in proper location.
- Know product location in the warehouse.
- Know how to properly stack board.
OPERATIONS:
- Know the proper safety procedures in the shrink-wrap area.
- Know how to use shrink gun properly.
- Know how to operate locomotive.
- Know how to use air nail gun properly.
- Know how to use hand tools properly.
- Know the proper tie down procedures.
- Know how to use fall protection.
- Knowledge of prep work.
- Knowledge of auto wraptor.
- Other assignments as directed by supervision.
- Rail car switching.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
- Must be flexible with job duties; may be required to fill in on other jobs or in other departments when the business or organization is short-handed.
- Other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS:
- Typically, well-lighted.
- Must be able to work in extreme weather and temperature changes.
- Attention level requirements are high, driving and working around forklifts in high-traffic areas.
- Slippery floor conditions may exist in inclement weather.
- Air quality is good.
