The Equipment Mechanic Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of employees engaged in the installation, repair, and maintenance of industrial machinery and equipment. This role provides technical guidance in diagnosing and resolving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic issues, while ensuring safe and efficient work practices. The supervisor plans and assigns work based on production schedules, interprets specifications and blueprints, and oversees adherence to company policies and safety regulations.

In addition to managing spare parts inventory and production records, the Equipment Mechanic Supervisor mentors and develops team members, collaborates with cross-functional departments, and partners with Process Engineers to improve equipment performance, manufacturing processes, and overall operational efficiency.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Directs workers in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment. Assists workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment. Directs workers engaged in dismantling, assembling, and installing industrial machinery.
  • Requisition s and keeps a supply of spare parts. Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments. Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
  • Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules. Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of the product.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase the efficiency of the shop, department, or work crew. Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems. Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Maintains time and production records. Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments. Interfaces and communicates with the operations team.
  • Supports manufacturing personnel and schedule adherence. Leads the team by example. Mentors and develops Equipment Mechanics.
  • Works closely with Process Engineer to provide multi-disciplinary support for Processes, equipment, and manufacturing. Performs activities of workers supervised. Instruct team on technical issues SME for Equipment Mechanics.
  • Read/interpret SOPs to ensure compliance.
  • Maintain up to date trainings.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education And Experience
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Minimum of five (5) years' relevant experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing or relevant industry
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in a leadership role
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Engineering or related field of study with a minimum of three (3) years' experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing or relevant industry, preferred
  • Industrial GMP experience in an FDA-regulated environment, preferred
Supervisory Responsibilities
