What Your Job Will Be Like

We are seeking an Electronics Technologist with experience doing hand soldering, rework and repair of electronic assemblies to class 3. The job will entail working at a bench with a scope soldering up to 0201 size components by hand with a soldering iron or hot air pencil. Work will include frequent rework and repair of boards including installation of jumper wires.

NOTE:

This job is not SMT (pick and place) installation of components, and we do not build cables. Successful candidates should be currently certified in J-std-001 and NASA 7711/7721. The selected candidate will join the Electronics Production and Inventory Control (EPIC) team as an assembly and rework/repair technologist of printed wiring assemblies, cables and other components intended for use in critical satellite applications.

These designs are complex, multi-layer assemblies and are low quantities and high rigor (always class
3). Join us to develop creative solutions to unique national security challenges!

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Work on multiple assemblies, including repair/rework with a focus on boards that require full hand assembly
  • Work both autonomously as an assembly and rework/repair technologist across the functions of the Satellite Systems Realization department as well as a lab owner and alternate lab owner
  • Balance work to support multiple organizations while still maintaining lab ownership and other daily personnel responsibilities
  • Electronics assemblies, including updates to inventory and managing parts in Oracle, and auditing of kits for electronic assemblies

Due to the nature of this work the selected applicant will need to work onsite. A soldering test will be required as part of the interview process.

Salary Range
