Communications & Engagement Coordinator Position Description POSITION TYPE:Year round, Full-Time, with additional time as required by RMYC activities.
REPORTS TO:Development Director
SALARY:$25/hour, non-exempt

LOCATION:RMYC Albuquerque Office, 2921 2nd Street NW, Albuquerque, NM 87107 (preferred) OR RMYC Taos Office, 1203 King Dr, Taos, NM 87571. Frequent travel throughout central and northern New Mexico is required, including occasional overnight travel to project sites and events.
POSITIONPURPOSE:
The Communications & Engagement Coordinator supports RMYC's communications, marketing, storytelling, recruitment outreach, and public engagement. Supervised by the Development Director, this position manages the organization's external voice and visual identity; develops content across print and digital platforms; supports events and fundraising; and works across departments to elevate RMYC's impact throughout New Mexico.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:Communications, Brand & Content
- Support RMYC's annual communications strategy and organizational messaging.
- Manage social media, email marketing, newsletters, annual reports, press releases, website content, presentations, and printed materials.
- Create engaging written, graphic, photo, and video content while maintaining consistent brand standards across programs and locations.
- Track communications performance, maintain digital media and brand assets, and identify opportunities to increase engagement and earned media coverage.
- Visit project sites and interview Corps members, staff, alumni, donors, and partners to develop stories, testimonials, photography, and video.
- Plan and implement recruitment campaigns for Corps member and staff positions; create materials and support information sessions, career fairs, and hiring initiatives.
- Represent RMYC at community events, partner meetings, and public outreach opportunities; track results and recommend improvements
- Lead communications and marketing for fundraising events, alumni gatherings, volunteer opportunities, and community engagement activities.
- Develop invitations, programs, signage, presentations, sponsor recognition, and promotional campaigns; assist with logistics, vendors, registration, and event execution.
- Support fundraising and donor stewardship communications and collaborate across departments to promote organizational priorities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Nonprofit Management, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Two or more years of professional experience in communications, marketing, public relations, nonprofit development, or related fields.
- Strong written, verbal, visual, organizational, and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Experience managing social media platforms and digital communications and using graphic design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience planning or supporting events and working collaboratively across teams
- Valid driver's license and insurable driving record;
Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
- Creative, detail oriented, and adaptable, with sound judgement and strong problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently while building effective relationships with colleagues, Corps members, donors, partners, and community members.
- Nonprofit communications, fundraising, donor stewardship or event planning.
- Photography, videography, website management, and email marketing.
- CRM or donor management systems;
Google workspace, Microsoft Office, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, and social media management tools.
- Ability to work on a computer for extended periods of time and lift up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to travel throughout New Mexico, including occasional overnight travel.
- Ability to traverse uneven terrain and work in office and outdoor environments, including heat, cold, rain, snow, and high elevations.
