Best Buddies International is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Best Buddies serves a diverse IDD community, including individuals with Down syndrome, autism, and other developmental disabilities. As the largest global organization focused on ending the isolation of individuals with IDD, Best Buddies empowers participants to achieve personal growth, develop career skills, and embrace social inclusion.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for an Employment Consultant located in Albuquerque, NM. The Employment Consultant will provide job coaching to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, assist with job search strategies, and offer career counseling to help individuals achieve successful employment. Additionally, the consultant will manage cases, ensure participants’ work-related goals are met, and provide job accompaniment services to aid in on-the-job training and support.

Qualifications
  • Experience in job coaching and providing support for individuals in workplace environments
  • Knowledge of job search strategies and career counseling to assist individuals in finding and retaining employment
  • Proficiency in case management to track progress, create individualized plans, and ensure participants’ goals are met
  • Ability to offer job accompaniment services and hands-on support during training and employment
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Passion for empowering individuals with IDD and promoting inclusion
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Education, or a related field is preferred
  • Prior experience in working with individuals with IDD or similar populations is highly desirable
