Position OverviewWe are looking for a community-driven Veteran Ambassador in New Mexico to engage veterans, build trusted relationships, and help connect them to the Televeda platform and programming. This role is ideal for someone who is deeply connected to the veteran community and motivated to bring fellow veterans into supportive spaces. The Veteran Ambassador will serve as a bridge between Televeda and veteran communities through outreach, relationship‑building, and peer‑led engagement opportunities.
The previous Veteran Ambassador successfully conducted community outreach, onboarded veterans onto the Televeda platform, facilitated their own virtual veteran group, and pursued their Peer Support certification.
- Contract Position (1099)
- $35 per hour
This is an independent contractor role and does not include employee benefits.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct veteran-focused outreach to drive awareness and adoption of the Televeda platform
- Build authentic relationships with veterans, veteran organizations, and community partners
- Support onboarding of veterans to Televeda programs and virtual groups
- Facilitate or co-facilitate virtual veteran engagement groups (training provided if needed)
- Represent Televeda at veteran community events (virtual and in‑person when applicable)
- Identify community needs and provide feedback to improve veteran programming
- Serve as a trusted peer connector helping veterans access social, wellness, and resource-based programming
- Lived experience as a veteran or extensive experience working with veteran populations
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills
- Passion for veteran wellness, peer connection, and community support
- Comfort using or learning virtual platforms and technology
- Ability to work independently and take initiative in outreach efforts
- Peer Support Specialist certification or willingness to obtain certification
- Experience facilitating support groups, peer groups, or community groups
- Background in community work, peer support, social services, or outreach
- Existing relationships within veteran communities or organizations
- Increased veteran engagement and participation on the Televeda platform
- Development of strong community partnerships
- Creation or support of veteran-focused virtual engagement spaces
- Trusted presence within veteran communities
- Mission-driven work supporting veterans and underserved communities
