About the Albuquerque Community Foundation & New Mexico Community Trust

The Albuquerque Community Foundation ("ACF") is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) public charity created by and for people in the greater Albuquerque area, with Assets Under Management of nearly $200 million. ACF administers a permanent community endowment comprised of many gifts, large and small, and uses those resources to support nonprofit organizations and educational institutions. We serve primarily the four-county area of Valencia, Bernalillo, Torrance, and Sandoval counties, while maintaining a broader vision to lead in community philanthropy across New Mexico and beyond.

ACF serves as the sole member of the New Mexico Community Trust ("NMCT"), a statewide 501(c)(3) organization that extends our reach and impact across New Mexico. NMCT enables the Foundation to partner with communities, public agencies, and funders on large-scale initiatives, fiscal sponsor ships, and collaborative funding efforts that address critical needs across the state.

Together, ACF and NMCT connect people, resources, and ideas to strengthen communities. Our leadership spans local, state, and national partnerships, and our donor‑advised fund holders support causes both statewide and nationwide. We enable individuals, families, and organizations to engage in philanthropy in ways that are meaningful, flexible, and impactful—whether through immediate giving or long‑term investment.

Position Overview

Under the supervision of the Vice President of Development, the Development Officer (internal title Philanthropic Partnerships Officer) at Albuquerque Community Foundation will play a crucial role in building the Foundation’s endowment and impact and securing significant financial support from individuals to advance the Foundation's mission to serve our community by mobilizing and stewarding resources to create equitable opportunity for all. The ideal candidate will be an experienced, dynamic and results‑oriented fundraising professional with a passion for philanthropy, a deep understanding of donor engagement, and the ability to cultivate and steward long‑term relationships with donors and professional advisors.

This is a non‑supervisory role with significant autonomy over your donor portfolio and limited administrative responsibility, so your time goes to building relationships and closing gifts.

• Identify, cultivate,solicit, and closephilanthropicpartnershipsthrough new prospects, current donors, and professional advisors (attorneys, accountants, wealthmanagersand trust officers) with a focus on endowed, non‑endowed,and estate gifts

• Develop and implement personalized cultivation strategies for eachdonorprospect, ensuring a deep understanding of their philanthropic interests and motivations

• Build andmaintainstrong, long‑term relationships with donors through regular communication, meetings, and personalized engagement activities
