Job Description & How to Apply Below

Reports to: Education & Community Engagement Director

Objective:

Expand Casa Fortaleza’s culturally specific education and community-engagement work by developing and facilitating bilingual, trauma-informed programs; strengthening community partnerships; and advancing health-equity-centered approaches to sexual violence prevention. The position will support programming in workplace sexual violence, healthy masculinities, and youth engagement with Spanish-speaking Latino immigrant communities in Central New Mexico.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and facilitate bilingual workshops, presentations, group sessions, and community-based programming.
  • Create brave, welcoming spaces for meaningful conversations about complex and sensitive topics.
  • Research, develop, adapt, and pilot culturally and linguistically responsive curricula, activities, and educational materials.
  • Coordinate outreach events, visibility efforts, partner-site activities, facilitators, and community practitioners.
  • Build relationships with schools, colleges, youth programs, agencies, coalitions, and culturally specific community organizations.
  • Engage participants and community members in shaping programs so they reflect community knowledge, lived experiences, strengths, and needs.
  • Track participation, outcomes, and feedback; support grant documentation, reporting, and program improvement.
  • Carry out assigned program areas with increasing autonomy, from planning through implementation and evaluation.
  • Support staff, trainings and cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and Saturdays, based on program and community needs.
Required Qualifications:
  • Experience in community education, outreach, public health, youth development, social services, prevention, advocacy, or a related field.
  • Experience working with Spanish-speaking and/or immigrant communities.
  • Ability to facilitate workshops, group conversations, and community education activities.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, coordination, and time-management skills, with the ability to navigate multiple programs and priorities.
  • Commitment to trauma-informed, survivor-centered, culturally responsive, and health-equity-centered practices.
  • Bilingual Spanish and English.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriate professional boundaries.
  • Must complete a NMCSAP 40-hour sexual assault advocacy training.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and Saturdays, based on program and community needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience developing or adapting bilingual curricula and educational materials.
  • Knowledge of sexual violence prevention, healthy relationships, youth engagement, worker justice, or healthy masculinities.
  • Experience building community partnerships, coordinating practitioners, or supporting program evaluation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent relevant professional and community-based experience.
Who We Are Looking For:

We seek someone grounded in culture and identity who understands how systems of oppression shape the health and safety of BIPOC and immigrant communities. They will approach community education as a shared process—honoring community wisdom, building trust, and turning dialogue into action-with a deep commitment to health equity, public health, and collective well-being.
