Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced PCU RN for a night shift telemetry/progressive care unit position requiring a NM or compact RN license and recent travel experience.

• Position is in an 18+ bed telemetry/progressive care unit in a hospital setting
• Responsibilities involve providing direct patient care to a progressive care population
• Unit uses Epic EMR;
  Epic experience is preferred
• 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Floating between departments and to local facilities within 20 miles is required
• Coordinates patient care through collaboration with the patient, family, and healthcare team
• Assumes responsibility for the clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel
• Documentation, planning, and evaluation of patient care required throughout each shift
• No local candidates permitted; must live at least 50 miles from facility
• First day orientation includes pass/fail Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia testing, with employment contingent on passing
• Holiday coverage may be required

• Active New Mexico or compact state RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required, completed through the American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required
• At least 2 years of recent experience in an 18+ bed telemetry/progressive care unit required
• Must have completed at least one prior 13-week travel assignment
• Must successfully pass an onsite Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test during orientation; one retest opportunity allowed
• English language proficiency required
• Candidates who have been perm staff at this facility must wait one year before being considered as a traveler
• NIHSS certification preferred
