Overview
This position is for a Research Nurse Coordinator in our Clinical Research Office at UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center. This research nurse position will work directly with physicians to run oncology clinical trials. This role assists physicians with screening, consenting and management of patients involved in clinical trials following regulatory guidelines.
The University of New Mexico Comprehensive Cancer Center is the Official Cancer Center of New Mexico and the only National Cancer Institute-designated Cancer Center in a 500-mile radius. Its 136 oncology specialty physicians include cancer surgeons, hematologists/medical oncologists, gynecologic oncologists, and radiation oncologists, along with more than 600 cancer healthcare professionals. The center provides treatment to a broad patient population and participates in cancer clinical trials and research funding.

ResponsibilitiesAssist physicians with oncology clinical trials, including patient screening, consent, and management in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
Conditions of Employment- CPR Certified.
- Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.
- May be required to submit immunization records for review for required vaccines and TB testing.
- Must maintain certification and/or licensure status.
- May be required to complete department-specific professional development activities.
- Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.
Associate's degree in Nursing; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Certification/Licensure:
State of New Mexico Licensed Registered Nurse or licensure pending as documented by temporary licensure OR current RN licensure from a state participating in the multistate privilege to practice compact with New Mexico. Completed degrees from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year-for-year basis.
Previous clinical research and oncology experience.
Additional RequirementsFinalists should be prepared to provide official educational transcripts if selected for hire. Applicants must provide names of 3 professional references that the hiring official can contact.
