Description:

This is a night position in a progressive care unit.
The unit has a maximum capacity of 55 beds.
Patient ratios are 1:4.
Weekend shifts will be required as needed, on a rotating basis.
Travelers may be expected to float to similar units based on facility needs.
Critical skills include post myocardial infarction care, pre/post cardiac surgery assistance, and sheath removal.

Experience with managing IV insulin protocols, blood product administration, and central line care/management is essential.
Candidates should be familiar with phlebotomy and PICC line management.
Ability to manage cardiac drips without titration is required.

Experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring is necessary.
Understanding of cerebrovascular accident management and interpretation of dysrhythmias is expected.
Telemetry experience is needed, both on-unit and remote monitoring.
Proficient wound care and wound vac management is required.
Candidates must be able to administer and manage high flow nasal cannula, BiPAP, and CPAP.
The daily census for this unit is approximately 38 patients.
Interdisciplinary support includes therapy and social services, among others.
Overall, the position requires a strong background in cardiovascular patient care.
