Experience:

Two years of current experience required in a telemetry/progressive care unit with at least 18 beds. Must have successfully completed at least one 13-week travel assignment.
License:
State Nursing License or Compact State Nursing License

Certifications:

BLS, ACLS certifications required. Must be completed through recognized certifying organizations.
Must-Have:
Candidates must successfully pass a Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test. Candidates will not be able to start an assignment until they have passed this onsite administered test. A second failure will result in contract cancellation and all applicable fees will be enforced.

Description:

Utilizes the nursing process to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients during a shift.
Ensures safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care of patients.
Provides direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individual patient needs, actions taken, and patient responses.
Coordinates patient care through collaboration with the patient, family, and healthcare team.
Initiates, utilizes, and documents appropriate protocols and standards of care.
Administers medication and treatments as prescribed by the physician or standard protocols and documents according to policy.
Identifies and meets patient and family learning and discharge needs on admission and throughout the episode of care.
Assumes responsibility for the clinical supervision of licensed practical nurses and non-licensed assistive personnel.
Must be a team player, flexible, and accustomed to a fast-paced environment.
Preferred experience includes Epic EMR experience and Charge Nurse experience.
