Job Description:
Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Medical Surgical team. In this role, you will provide direct patient care, administer medications, and collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality care.
As a member of our team, you will work with a diverse patient population in a fast-paced environment. Your daily responsibilities will include assessing patient needs, developing and implementing care plans, and monitoring patient progress. You will also educate patients and their families on disease management and preventative care.
- Assess patient health problems and needs, developing and implementing nursing care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes or abnormalities to the healthcare team.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients and their families on disease management, medication administration, and post-discharge care.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records.
- Respond to patient emergencies and initiate appropriate interventions.
- Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Previous experience in a Medical Surgical unit.
- Certification in a relevant specialty area (e.g., Medical-Surgical Nursing).
- Proficiency in medication administration, wound care, and intravenous therapy.
- Ability to interpret and respond to cardiac rhythms.
- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
