Job Overview
Optum New Mexico is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Cardiology team in Albuquerque, NM.

Position Highlights & Primary ResponsibilitiesLocation:
Sunport Location, Transport St SE, Albuquerque, NM
Schedule:
Full‑time, Monday – Friday
Patient Volume:
Approx. 14–15 patients per day (40 min new patient, 20 min established patient)
- Consult patients to understand their symptoms and health concerns
- Prescribe tests, treatments, and/or surgery when necessary
- Maintain detailed notes of appointments, including comments, tests, treatments prescribed, and results
- Perform tests to assess heart and cardiovascular health
- Interpret test results to determine cardiovascular function
- Use medical imaging equipment (CT, MRI scanners) to diagnose and treat heart conditions
- Assist and/or perform surgery, including complex interventions requiring a multidisciplinary team
- Prescribe medication for heart and cardiovascular disease
- Provide support and advice to patients receiving long‑term care
- Train and provide educational support to junior staff as needed

- National Nurse Practitioner certification through AANC or AANP, or Physician Assistant/ARNP certification, or ability to obtain prior to employment
- Unrestricted licensure in New Mexico, or ability to obtain prior to employment
- Current DEA registration, or ability to obtain prior to employment
- Current BLS and ACLS certification
- EMR proficiency
