Shift: Night 3x12 (19:00–07:30)

1.5+ years ICU (travel experience preferred)

Local Rule: No locals within 100 miles

Hours:

Facility may cancel up to 3 shifts per 13-week assignment

Unit Overview
  • Unit Type: Neuro ICU (Level I Trauma / Teaching Hospital / Children’s Hospital)
  • Beds: Part of large ICU system (554-bed hospital)
  • RN Ratio: 1:2
  • Floating: Yes (other ICUs, PCU, Med-Surg overflow, ED/PACU for admitted patients)
Required Certifications
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • NIHSS
Common Patient Population / Diagnoses
  • TBI, SAH, SDH
  • Brain tumors / post-op neurosurgery
  • Status epilepticus
  • Stroke / post-TPA care
  • Post-thrombectomy care
  • Other acute neurological disorders
Required Skills / Experience

Must be comfortable with:

  • ICP monitoring and neuro critical care
  • EVD management
  • CRRT (preferred / required in many submissions)
  • A-line management
  • Ventilated / intubated patients
  • Central line care
  • Dysrhythmia interpretation & management

    Post-neuro surgical ICU care
Procedures / Advanced Care Exposure
  • EVD insertions
  • Intubation support
  • Central line insertion support
  • CRRT setup/management
  • Post-TNK / post-thrombectomy monitoring
Scheduling / Policies
  • Block scheduling: possible but not guaranteed
  • Weekend requirement: varies
  • RTO > 7 days requires approval
  • 6-month break rule after long consecutive assignments
  • OT after 48 hours (contracts after 10/30/2025)
