Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 3x12-Hour Shifts | 36 or 48 Hours Per Week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department, with a significant portion of the patient population consisting of admitted or ED holding patients.
  • Administer medications, including IV medications, in accordance with the seven medication rights.
  • Document and communicate clinical findings accurately and in a timely manner using Cerner electronic health records.
  • Manage admitted hold patients within the Emergency Department setting, as approximately 60–80% of the ED population may consist of admitted patients.
  • Float as needed to Adult PCUs based on staffing needs; optional floating to Pediatric ED; potential floating to ED Holding and Trauma based on experience.
  • Adhere to weekend scheduling requirements, including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights as applicable.
Required Qualifications
  • Active RN license (state license may be pending at time of submission).
  • Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience (1.5 years may be considered on a case-by-case basis).
  • Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications — TNCC must be obtained prior to submission; NIH certification may be pending until compliance document due date.
  • RQI certifications are not accepted; standard certification equivalents required.
  • Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility (non-local requirement); non-local driver's license required on file.
  • Must be available for weekend shifts and comply with assignment scheduling requirements, including a maximum of 7 days of requested time off.
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Prior travel nursing experience is strongly preferred; candidates with 2+ years of Level I Trauma experience may be considered in lieu of travel experience.
  • Level I Trauma center experience is highly preferred given the acuity and volume of the facility.
  • Experience managing admitted hold patients and high patient ratios (1:5) in an acute Emergency Department environment.
