Overview
Join Our Team as a Psychiatric Consult Liaison – APP (Psychiatry Certified). We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Advanced Practice Provider (APP) certified in psychiatry to join our Psychiatric Consult Liaison team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact across inpatient units, pediatrics, and the emergency department.

Role and Responsibilities- Partner with primary care and specialty teams to advise on psychiatric medications and treatment strategies.
- Provide educational support to care teams on the diagnosis and management of behavioral health conditions.
- Play a key role in enhancing the collaborative care model across hospital settings.
- Function as an advanced practice nurse in Behavioral Health in the roles of consultant, educator, practitioner and researcher.
- Prescribe and distribute drugs and controlled substances within scope of practice protocols.
- Develop and implement patient care plans based on research and national practice standards to improve patient outcomes.
- Ensure adherence to Hospital and departmental policies and procedures; manage patient care across neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric age groups as applicable.
- Assess, diagnose and develop treatment plans; implement treatment, follow-up and evaluate patients within scope of practice.
- Prescribe and distribute all drugs, including controlled substances, as permitted.
- Perform patient history and physical exams as needed for procedures or admissions; document findings.
- Perform invasive and non-invasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as appropriate.
- Educate patients and families about preventative care and treatment methods.
- Collaborate with medical/nursing/counseling staff to provide comprehensive care and continuity of care.
- Guide, teach, support and serve as a clinical resource for nursing and medical staff.
- Mentor and precept students and junior staff; participate in research and incorporate findings into practice.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and education through programs, literature, and workshops.
- Follow patient safety policies and proactively identify opportunities to improve safety.
- Education Essential:
Program Graduate;
Education specialization:
Advanced Nurse or Clinical Nurse Specialist. - Experience Essential: 1 year psychiatric experience.
- Nonessential
:
Bilingual in English and other languages (e.g., Keres, Spanish) or other language specializations. - Credentials Essential: CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider, NM Advanced Practice Nurse License (CNP, CNS, CRNA); ACLS or PALS (as applicable) within 30 days of hire.

Minimum Offer $53.29/hr;
Maximum Offer $74.90/hr compensation is based on factors including experience, education, and organizational considerations. - Department
