This is a full‑time, on‑site Nurse Practitioner role based at AMG Specialty Hospital – Albuquerque in Albuquerque, NM. The Nurse Practitioner will provide advanced clinical care to medically complex patients, including conducting comprehensive assessments, performing physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and developing evidence‑based treatment plans. Daily responsibilities include managing acute and chronic conditions, collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other team members, and participating in multidisciplinary rounds.
The role involves educating patients and families about diagnoses, medications, and care plans, and documenting all care in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards. The Nurse Practitioner will also support quality improvement initiatives, ensure compliance with safety protocols, and contribute to a culture of compassionate, patient‑centered care.
- Current Nurse Practitioner license in the state of New Mexico, with national certification (e.g., ACNP, FNP, AGACNP, or equivalent) and current BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Clinical experience in acute care, critical care, long‑term acute care, or a similar medically complex setting, with strong skills in patient assessment, care planning, and clinical decision‑making.
- Proficiency in ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, managing complex medication regimens, and performing appropriate clinical procedures within scope of practice.
- Strong ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team, communicate clearly with patients, families, and colleagues, and provide effective patient and family education.
- Solid documentation and electronic health record (EHR) skills, with attention to accuracy, regulatory compliance, and continuity of care.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient safety, quality improvement, and evidence‑based practice, including participation in unit or hospital initiatives as needed.
- Ability to work full time on‑site with flexibility for varying patient needs, including strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
- Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program; experience in long term acute care, ICU, pulmonary, or rehabilitation settings is preferred.
