Registered Nurse – PACU

Schedule:

12-hour shifts

Hours:

36 hours/week

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years RN experience
• Required:
  
  Level I trauma experience and telemetry experience
• Preferred:
  Phase II PACU experience and comfort with higher nurse-to-patient ratios
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
• Must be willing to perform pre-op duties
• Experience with ventilated patients, dysrhythmia recognition/management, and basic pediatric care is essential.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU).
• Monitor patient's vital signs and level of consciousness post-surgery and intervene as necessary.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for effective patient care and recovery.
• Assist in managing ventilator-dependent patients and recognize/act on dysrhythmias.
• Educate patients and families on recovery procedures and post-operative care.

Compliance / Notes:

• Orientation: 24 hours
• Flu vaccine required; medical/religious exemptions allowed
• Holiday requirement:
  Must work 2 out of 3 holiday bundles
• Requests for time off greater than 7 days need approval; no time off during the first 7 days or on the last day of contract
