American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring an active NM or compact RN license and telemetry experience.

• Work in the Med/Surg Telemetry unit of a Level I Trauma, Teaching, and Children's Hospital operating at over 100% capacity
• Patient ratio of 1:5 with possible 1:6
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 7:30
• 36 or 48 hour contracts available
• Weekend requirement of 2 per 4-week schedule, which may vary by unit
• Floating required to other MS/Tele, PCU, and lower acuity settings within skillset, including the ED with 1:5 ratios
• Uses Cerner charting system
• No on-call requirements
• Must work 2 of the 3 designated holiday bundles (Thanksgiving/day after, Christmas Eve/Day, or NYE/NYD)

• Active NM or compact RN license required, and may pend at time of submission
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• RQI certifications not accepted
• Skills in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias required
• Experience with IV starts and maintenance, and telemetry required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Willingness to work relief charge as needed for contracts signed on or after 7/2/2026

• Provide nursing care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients in a high-acuity, high-capacity hospital setting
• Scrub color is black, though not provided by facility
• No parking fee for staff
• COVID vaccine is optional, but candidates must upload vaccination series or submit a declination for facility reporting purposes
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• Facility does not accept local candidates within a 100-mile radius, and a non-local driver's license is required for consideration
• RTO greater than 10 days requires approval, with a maximum of 7 days preferred and no RTO during the first or last 7 days of the contract
• One holiday off is preferred during the assignment
• Former staff must have a 12-month separation before returning
• Travelers who have worked 4 consecutive assignments or reached one year must take a 6-month system break
