American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery night shift position requiring NM or compact RN license and AWHONN Intermediate certification.
Details- Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital environment
- Facility performs 100-200 births per month
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Night shift schedule (4x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM) with option of 36 or 48 hours per week
- Weekend requirements of 4-6 shifts per 6 weeks
- Floating to like units within scope required as needed based on facility needs
- Charting system experience required (any system accepted, EPIC preferred)
- Active RN license (NM or Compact) required, pending NM/Compact accepted if obtained prior to start
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, AWHONN Intermediate, and NRP required (pending certifications accepted)
- AWHONN Advanced certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required (not including new graduate orientation time)
- Experience with antepartum care, high-risk and vaginal deliveries, and C-section circulating/recovery required
- Skilled in fetal monitoring (external and internal), sterile vaginal exams, and obstetrical triage
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and central line maintenance (CVC/PICC)
- Experience with medication administration including anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, and insulin drips
- Provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care including antepartum monitoring, delivery assistance, and postpartum recovery
- Scrubs provided
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered
- Former staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Brief unit orientation provided for floating assignments
