American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring 2 years of experience and an active NM or compact RN license.

• Work in the Medical Surgical unit of a hospital environment
• 1:6 patient ratio
• Night shift schedule (4x12 hours, 19:00-7:30)
• Option of 36 or 48 hours per week
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Floating required to like units within scope as needed
• Epic charting system experience required

• Active NM or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg nursing experience preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, peripheral line care, PICC line management, blood product administration, and central line blood draws
• Respiratory care skills required including oxygen administration, nasal cannula, oral suctioning, and oxygen tank use
• Experience with colostomy/ileostomy care and feeding tube management required
• Experience managing CVA patients required
• Medication administration experience required including Heparin, Insulin, and PCA
• Isolation precautions/PPE and wound care/wound vac experience required
• Experience with pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care required
• Surgical drain management experience required
• Telemetry monitoring experience required (on-unit and remote)
• Rapid Response/Code team experience required
• Total joint replacement/orthopedic care experience required

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for consideration
• Former staff members must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Brief unit orientation provided for floating assignments
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
