American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN with a NM or compact RN license and AWHONN Intermediate certification for a fast-paced obstetrical unit.

• Labor and Delivery unit with 100-200 facility births per month
• Day shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts (7:00-19:30)
• Option of 36 or 48 hours per week
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Weekend requirement of 4-6 shifts per 6 weeks
• Floating to like units within scope may be required based on facility needs, with brief orientation provided
• Antepartum, high-risk delivery, vaginal delivery, and C-section circulating/recovery care
• Fetal monitoring using external fetal heart monitoring (EFM)

• Active NM or compact RN license required (pending NM/compact accepted if obtained prior to start)
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate (pending certs accepted); AWHONN Advanced preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required, not including new graduate orientation
• Experience with sterile vaginal exams, obstetrical triage, and central line maintenance (CVC/PICC)
• Skilled in medication administration including anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, and insulin drips
• IV therapy and phlebotomy skills required
• Any charting system experience required;
  Epic experience preferred

• Provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care including antepartum monitoring, high-risk and vaginal delivery assistance, and C-section circulating and recovery
• Scrubs provided
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• Former staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• No travel pairs or groups accepted
