American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring NM or Compact RN license and prior ER nursing experience.

• General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients
• Level I and Level II Trauma Center within a STEMI and Stroke certified facility
• Night shift, 4x12 hours (18:30-07:00)
• Option of 36 or 48 hours per week
• At least 6 weekend shifts required within a 6-week schedule
• 1:5 patient ratio
• Epic charting system preferred
• Floating to like units within scope required as needed based on facility needs

• Active NM or Compact RN license required (pending NM/Compact license accepted if obtained prior to start)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS
• Preferred certifications: CPI, TNCC
• 2 years of ER nursing experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, arterial line management, central line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
• Experience interpreting ABGs and managing IV sedation/vasopressors
• Experience with cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience in triage and isolation precautions/PPE

• Provide emergency care across trauma, cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and pediatric cases
• May manage shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
• May care for pediatric emergencies including head injury and near drowning cases
• May assist with neuro-trauma cases including CVA, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
• May assist with ortho trauma cases
• Brief unit orientation provided when floating to other departments
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for the position
• Former staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• Maximum of 4 days RTO can be auto-approved at time of submission
