American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a night shift position requiring NM or compact RN license and ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications.
Details- General Emergency Department serving combined Adult/Pediatric population
- Night shift schedule, 4x12 hours (18:30-7:00) with option of 36 or 48 hours per week
- Requires at least 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Epic charting system preferred
- Floating to like units within scope required based on facility needs, with brief orientation provided
- Active RN license (NM or Compact) required, pending license accepted if obtained prior to start
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS
- Preferred certifications: CPI and TNCC
- 2 years of ED experience preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred
- Experience in Level I or Level II Trauma Center, teaching hospital, community hospital, or LTAC setting preferred
- Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care
- Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
- Experience interpreting ABGs and dysrhythmias, and administering continuous IV sedation and vasopressors
- Experience in triage and isolation precautions/PPE
- Provide emergency care across a range of trauma, cardiac, neurological, pediatric, and orthopedic cases
- Facility is STEMI and Stroke certified
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- No travel pairs or groups accepted
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted
- Former staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
- Up to 3-4 days of RTO may be auto-approved; no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
- Traveler expected to complete labs within 48 business hours of contract signing
- Onsite orientation includes completion of required training modules
