American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN for a night shift position requiring 1 year of recent experience and a NM or compact RN license.

• 32-bed Medical Surgical unit within a hospital setting
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (18:30-7:00)
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:6
• Rapid response team activation duties
• Epic charting system used
• No on-call requirements
• Floating to like units as needed based on facility needs
• Weekend requirement of 6 weekend shifts within 6 weeks
• 36 or 48 hour scheduling option available, with anything over 48 hours considered overtime

• Active RN license (NM or Compact) required, pending NM/Compact accepted if obtained prior to start
• BLS certification required, CPI preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg experience required
• Experience with 1:6 patient ratios
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care
• Respiratory care skills including chest tube management, HFNC, and oxygen administration
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
• Medication administration experience with Heparin, Insulin, and PCA
• Renal and genitourinary care experience including pre/post hemodialysis management
• CVA (Cerebrovascular Accident) experience preferred

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit including IV therapy, wound care, and respiratory support
• Brief unit orientation provided when floating to like units
• First-time travelers considered if candidate has at least 24 months of nursing experience
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• Previous staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Maximum of 4 days RTO can be auto-approved at time of submission
• No travel pairs or groups accepted
