American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Emergency Department position on night shift, requiring NM or compact RN license and 2 years of ED experience.
Details- General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients
- 1:5 patient ratio
- Night shift, 4x12 hours (18:30-07:00), with option of 36 or 48 hours per week
- At least 6 weekend shifts required within a 6-week schedule
- Epic charting system preferred
- Floating to like units within scope required as needed based on facility needs, with brief orientation provided
- Active NM state or compact RN license required (pending compact accepted, must be obtained prior to start)
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS (CPI and TNCC preferred)
- 2 years of ED nursing experience preferred
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Experience in teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II settings preferred
- Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care
- Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care, and ABG interpretation
- Experience with continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation administration/monitoring
- Experience managing neurological trauma cases including CVA, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury preferred
- Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and triage
- Provide emergency nursing care across a wide range of trauma, cardiac, neurological, and pediatric emergency cases
- Facility is a STEMI and Stroke Certified facility with Level I and II Trauma Center capabilities
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- No travel pairs or groups accepted
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius, as local candidates are not accepted
- Former staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Maximum of 3-4 days RTO auto-approved at time of submission; no RTO permitted during first week of orientation
- Required to complete labs within 48 business hours of contract signing
- Onsite orientation modules required, averaging 4-6 hours for RNs
