American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department night shift position requiring NM or compact RN license and prior ER experience.
Details- General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric population
- Level I and Level II Trauma Center capabilities
- Night shift schedule, 4x12 hour shifts (18:30-7:00)
- Option of 36 or 48 hour weekly schedules
- Minimum of 6 weekend shifts required within a 6-week schedule
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Floating to like units within scope may be required based on facility needs
- Epic charting system preferred
- Active RN license (NM or Compact) required, pending license accepted if obtained prior to start
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications required
- CPI and TNCC certifications preferred
- 2 years of ER experience preferred
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and trauma level experience preferred
- Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, arterial line management, central line care, and blood product administration
- Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients preferred
- Experience with continuous IV sedation and IV vasopressors
- Experience in cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Knowledge of isolation precautions/PPE and triage protocols
- Experience with neuro-trauma, CVA, and spinal cord injury care preferred
- Experience with pediatric trauma cases including head injury and near drowning preferred
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility as locals are not accepted
- Former staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- No more than 3-4 days of RTO can be auto-approved, with no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
- Travelers will receive brief orientation when floating to other units
