Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Emergency Department night shift position requiring NM or compact RN license and ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications.

Details
  • General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients
  • Night shift, 4x12 hours from 18:30-07:00
  • Option of 36 or 48 hours per week
  • Requires at least 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule
  • Patient ratio of 1:5
  • Epic charting system preferred
  • Floating to like units within scope may be required based on facility needs, with brief orientation provided
Requirements
  • Active RN license (NM or Compact) required, pending NM/Compact license accepted if obtained prior to start
  • Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
  • Preferred certifications: CPI, TNCC
  • 2 years of ER experience preferred
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Experience in Level I or Level II Trauma Center preferred
  • Teaching hospital, community hospital, and LTAC experience preferred
  • Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care
  • Respiratory skills including BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilator care, and ABG interpretation
  • Experience with continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation monitoring
  • Neurological trauma experience preferred, including CVA, ICP monitoring, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
  • Cardiac monitoring skills including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and triage
  • Ortho trauma experience preferred
Additional Information
  • Provide emergency care across a wide range of trauma, pediatric, cardiac, and neurological cases
  • Facility is a Level I/II Trauma Center, STEMI Certified, and Stroke Certified
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
  • Former staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is allowed during the first week of orientation
  • Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
  • Modules and onsite orientation are required and completed at the start of the assignment
