Description:
Travelers are expected to work during holiday bundles. Must work 2 out of 3 of the holiday bundles:
Thanksgiving & the day after, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day, NYE & NYD. Travelers should expect that assignments primarily include admitted patients. No RQI certifications accepted. Travel experience is strongly preferred; however, if the traveler has 2+ years of Level I experience, consideration may be given. Approximately 60%-80% of the Emergency Department consists of admitted patients, and many ED rooms are designated for holding.
Medication administration, including IV medication, via the seven medication rights is required. Documentation and communication of clinical findings are essential. Ratios in the department are 1:5. Candidates with 1.5 years of experience may be reviewed. First-time travelers are accepted, but prior travel experience is preferred. Travelers will be scheduled for weekends as needed. Weekend days constitute Saturday and Sunday; weekend nights are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Floating to Pediatrics ED is optional, but floating to Adult PCUs is an expectation based on staffing needs. Potential floating to ED Holding and Trauma may occur as well. No locals will be accepted within a 100-mile radius. RTO restrictions apply; greater than 7 days requires approval. Travelers must comply with COVID-19 reporting requirements. Daily census in the Emergency Department ranges from 170-200, with an average number of visits per day didates should have experience with bar code medication scanning.
Candidates must demonstrate skills in arterial line management, blood product administration, and care of ventilated patients. Travelers are expected to work in a Level I Trauma setting, with skills in triage and management of various trauma cases. Modules may be required to be completed, and travelers must adhere to drug screening protocols. This position requires a commitment to high-quality patient care and teamwork within an interdisciplinary support structure.
