Job Summary
Grand Canyon University is seeking Adjunct Clinical and Lab Nursing faculty members for a PRN (as needed) position. Candidates will travel within the Albuquerque, New Mexico area to observe student performance during scheduled clinical rotations and labs.
Responsibilities- Reinforce didactic content and teach the knowledge and skills needed for pre‑licensure nursing.
- Collaborate with content‑area faculty to provide expert evaluation and documentation of student progress toward clinical objectives.
- Participate in grading written and clinical performance check‑offs.
- Remain current with new trends and developments in the specific field of nursing practice.
- Maintain compliance with accreditation requirements.
- Uphold the tenets of nursing as a holistic profession and the university’s doctrine, ethical position statement, and mission.
- Travel to GCU student sites to directly observe student performance.
- Support the university program in all areas, demonstrating congruence with the institution’s philosophy and community service.
- Provide a positive example to students by supporting GCU’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission.
- BSN required.
- BSN holders must enroll in a GCU MSN Leadership or MSN Education program immediately upon hire, paid for by GCU, OR possess a BSN with proof of at least 9 graduate credits (3 classes) in any graduate program, OR hold an approved national certification related to the content area being taught. Specify graduate credits or national certification on your resume.
- Minimum of 3 years recent work experience in pediatric nursing with a BSN.
- An active, current, unencumbered, multi‑state (Compact) RN license.
- Successful completion of a drug test and competency testing.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with students.
