Travel PACU Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract in West of Albuquerque, NM, delivering postoperative care and collaborating with perioperative teams to ensure safe recovery. Compensation up to $3,300 per week based on experience.
Key Responsibilities:Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures.
Monitor vital signs, airway status, level of consciousness, pain, and overall condition during post-anesthesia recovery.
Assess patients for potential complications and respond promptly to changes in clinical status.
Administer medications, IV therapies, and other treatments per provider orders and facility protocols.
Manage postoperative pain and nausea while promoting safe and comfortable recovery.
Perform thorough patient assessments before, during, and after PACU recovery.
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, CRNAs, physicians, and other perioperative team members.
Provide postoperative education to patients and families regarding recovery, medications, wound care, and discharge instructions.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
Follow infection prevention, patient safety, medication administration, and hospital policies.
Demonstrate strong clinical judgment, communication, critical thinking, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced perioperative environment.
Support a positive patient experience and contribute to a collaborative surgical services team.
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
Active Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in New Mexico.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
Recent PACU/Post-Anesthesia Care Unit experience required.
Strong assessment, prioritization, medication administration, and emergency-response skills.
Current knowledge of PACU, perioperative, post-anesthesia, and acute-care nursing practices.
Skills:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification preferred.
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification may be preferred.
Previous acute-care or perioperative nursing experience strongly preferred.
Previous experience with electronic medical records preferred.
You hold an active NM RN license with BLS/ACLS. You have recent PACU experience and strong assessment skills. You can manage postoperative pain, emergencies, and documentation efficiently
