Travel RN - Med​/Surg - Neuro

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Neuro night shift position requiring NIHSS certification and NM or compact RN licensure.

• Active RN license (NM or Compact) required prior to start
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required; CPI preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent nursing experience required
• Experience with 1:6 patient ratios
• Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line management preferred
• Experience with respiratory care including chest tubes, HFNC, and oxygen administration preferred
• Experience managing CVA and other neurological/psychiatric conditions preferred
• Experience with wound care, isolation precautions, and PPE preferred
• Experience with GI and GU/renal care including colostomy management and hemodialysis preferred

• 32-bed Medical Surgical - Neuro unit
• Night shift, 4x12 hours (18:30-7:00), with 36 or 48 hour options
• Nurse to patient ratio of 1:6
• Rapid response team activation responsibilities
• No on-call requirements
• Floating to like units within scope as needed
• Weekend requirement of 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week period
• Uses Epic charting system
• Provide medical surgical nursing care to a neurological patient population
• Receive brief orientation when floating to other units
• First-time travelers accepted if they have at least 24 months of nursing experience
• Previous staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• No travel pairs or groups accepted
