Travel PACU RN position in West of Albuquerque, NM for a 13-week contract. Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia and surgery, with competitive weekly compensation up to $3,300 based on experience.
Key Responsibilities:Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures.
Monitor vital signs, airway status, level of consciousness, pain, and overall condition during post-anesthesia recovery.
Assess patients for potential complications and respond promptly to changes in clinical status.
Administer medications, IV therapies, and other treatments per provider orders and facility protocols.
Manage postoperative pain and nausea while promoting safe and comfortable recovery.
Perform thorough patient assessments before, during, and after PACU recovery.
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, CRNAs, physicians, and perioperative team members.
Provide postoperative education to patients and families regarding recovery, medications, wound care, and discharge instructions.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
Follow infection prevention, patient safety, medication administration, and hospital policies.
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
Current knowledge of PACU, perioperative, post-anesthesia, and acute-care nursing practices.
Active Registered Nurse license eligible for practice in New Mexico.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
Recent PACU / Post Anesthesia Care Unit experience required.
Strong assessment, prioritization, medication administration, and emergency-response skills.
Experience caring for patients recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures.
Skills:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
PALS certification preferred.
NRP certification may be preferred depending on facility requirements.
Previous acute-care or perioperative nursing experience strongly preferred.
Previous experience with electronic medical records preferred.
You hold an active NM RN license with ACLS certification. You have recent PACU experience and strong emergency response skills. You can assess, monitor, and manage postoperative patients effectively
