American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department night shift position requiring 2 years of ER experience and a NM or compact RN license.
Details- General Emergency Department serving combined adult and pediatric patients
- 1:5 patient ratio
- Night shift, 3x12 hours (6:30 PM to 7:00 AM)
- Option of 36 or 48 hour weekly schedules
- Minimum of 6 weekend shifts required within a 6-week schedule
- Epic charting system experience preferred
- Floating to like units within scope may be required based on facility needs, with brief orientation provided
- Active RN license (NM or Compact) required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS; CPI and TNCC preferred
- Minimum 2 years of ER experience preferred
- Charge experience preferred
- Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
- Skills in IV therapy/phlebotomy, arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care
- Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
- Experience interpreting ABGs and administering continuous IV sedation and vasopressors
- Experience with procedural sedation administration/monitoring
- Neurological care experience including CVA and neuro-trauma preferred
- Experience managing dysrhythmias and cardiac monitoring
- Isolation precautions/PPE and triage skills required
- Care for patients in a Level I/II Trauma Center, STEMI and Stroke certified facility
- Handle shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
- Provide pediatric emergency care including head injuries, near drowning, and spinal cord injuries
- Manage ortho trauma cases as needed
- Facility is part of a larger health system including an affiliated heart hospital
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Previous staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate
- Maximum of 4 days RTO can be auto-approved at time of submission
