American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Night Shift Emergency Department position requiring 2 years of ER experience and an NM or compact RN license.
Requirements- Active NM or compact RN license required (pending compact accepted if obtained prior to start)
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS
- Preferred certifications: CPI, TNCC
- 2 years of ER nursing experience preferred
- Preferred experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care
- Preferred experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
- Preferred experience interpreting arterial blood gases (ABGs)
- Preferred experience with continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation administration/monitoring
- Preferred experience with neurological cases including CVA, ICP monitoring, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
- Preferred experience in Level I or Level II Trauma Centers, teaching hospitals, community hospitals, and LTAC settings
- Preferred experience with cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Preferred experience with isolation precautions/PPE and triage
- Preferred previous charge nurse experience
- Work in a General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients
- Night shift schedule (4x12 hours, 18:45-7:15)
- Option of 36 or 48 hours per week
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Preferred experience with Epic charting system
- At least 6 weekend shifts required within a 6-week schedule
- Floating to like units within scope required as needed based on facility needs
- Provide emergency care across a range of trauma and non-trauma cases, including shock/trauma, pediatric emergencies, and cardiac events
- Facility is a STEMI and Stroke Certified center
- Complete required onsite orientation modules (RN average 4-6 hours) during orientation
- Must live outside a 50-mile radius as locals are not accepted
- Former staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- No more than 3 days of requested time off will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
