American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department night shift position at a Level I/II trauma center requiring NM or compact RN license.
Details- General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients
- Level I and Level II Trauma Center with STEMI and Stroke certification
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Night shift, 4x12 hours, 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, with option for 36 or 48 hours per week
- At least 6 weekend shifts required within a 6-week schedule
- Epic charting system preferred
- Floating to like units within scope required as needed based on facility needs
- Active RN license (NM or Compact) required
- BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications required
- CPI and TNCC certifications preferred
- 2 years of ER experience preferred
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, arterial line management, central line care, and blood product administration
- Experience with ventilator care, BiPAP/CPAP management, and ABG interpretation preferred
- Experience with continuous IV sedation, vasopressors, and procedural sedation preferred
- Experience with neuro-trauma, CVA, ICP monitoring, and spinal cord injury preferred
- Trauma experience including gunshot wounds, traumatic amputation, and ortho trauma preferred
- Pediatric emergency experience including head injury and near drowning preferred
- Cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and management skills required
- Isolation precautions/PPE and triage skills required
- Charge experience preferred
- Provide emergency care across a wide range of trauma, cardiac, neurological, and pediatric cases
- Brief unit orientation provided when floating to other units
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Previous staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
- Maximum of 4 days RTO can be auto-approved at time of submission
