Veterinary Technician - Floor Manager

Albuquerque, NM

Thrive Albuquerque is looking for a Veterinary Technician Floor Manager to join our team as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community.

Role Responsibilities

Direct oversight and management of the technician and assistant team (ER, neurology, and internal medicine).

  • Lead & Develop the Team: Mentor technicians and assistants, manage schedules, and foster a positive, collaborative culture.
  • Coordinate Exceptional Patient Care: Oversee patient flow from admission to discharge and ensure effective triage.
  • Maintain Hospital Operations: Manage medical inventory and ensure a clean, safe, and well-stocked environment.
  • Serve as a Client Liaison: Communicate treatment plans and provide compassionate updates to pet owners.
  • Uphold Quality & Standards: Ensure the hospital adheres to safety protocols and the highest standards of care.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
Experience & Skills Requirements
  • Credentialed technician (RVT, CVT, LVT) highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a veterinary hospital setting, emergency and/or specialty highly preferred.
  • Must have leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of veterinary medical terminology, procedures, and emergency protocols.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and staff.
  • Proven organizational abilities with the capacity to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Proficiency in veterinary practice management software and Microsoft Office suite.
